- Tree Planting Ceremony (15th April in Merriman Park).
, a professional gardener has agreed to dig the hole and initially plant the tree on Thursday
April. He has contacted the supplier and arranged delivery
. Claire will provide a spade for the actual ceremony and Marina will collect the plaque and give it to Claire
To keep the tree alive
, it will need to be watered every day with a minimum of

Acting upon a suggestion by a member
, it was agreed to provide some beer in addition to the wine
, bucks fizz and soft drinks
. This will be purchased by Tom when collecting the wine
. Claire and Marina will provide containers and ice to cool drinks as necessary
Final costs are not yet available
- Visit to Isny 2017
. (Initial estimate was £200 per person to be paid by June
). Claire has secured the flights relatively cheaply at £89 per person
The flight costs are known and everyone has paid at least a £45 deposit with the rest to pay by the end of June
. The only thing still to be decided is whether we all travel together to the airport or organise shared transport and we will agree this with those travelling at a meeting for the group which will be towards the end of May

Nous sommes heureux de vous acceuillir chez nous pour ce weekend de fête, afin de célébrer ensemble le 50ème anniversaire du jumelage entre nos deux villes. Voici le programme du weekend:
mercredi 12 avril : Arrivée prevue à Street vers 22h15 à Victoria Sports Club.
jeudi 13 avril : Visite à Longleat. Départ à 8h00 de Strode College. Retour vers 19h15.
Soirée en famille.
vendredi 14 avril : Journée en famille.
Soirée Officielle à 19h00 à la Salle des Fêtes de Compton Dundon.
samedi 15 avril : Matinée en famille.
Plantation d’un arbre à Merriman Park à 14h00.
Fête de Famille organisée par le Conseil Municipal de 15h00 à 21h00 à Victoria Sports Club. Jeux et Barbecue.
dimanche 16 avril : Départ de Street. Il faut être au car à Victoria Sports Club à 9h30.

We are pleased to welcome you to this weekend to celebrate together the 50th anniversary of the twinning between our two towns. Here is the program for the weekend:
Wednesday 12th April: Arrival planned at 10:15 pm at Victoria Sports Club.
Thursday 13 April: Visit to Longleat. Departure at 8:00 am from Strode College. Back to 19h15.
Evening with family.
Friday 14 April: Family day.
Official Evening at 7:00 pm at the village hall in Compton Dundon.
Saturday 15th April: Morning with family.
Planting of a tree at Merriman Park at 14:00.
Family Feast organized by the City Council from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Victoria Sports Club.
Games and Barbecue.
Sunday 16 April: Departure from Street. You have to be at Victoria Sports Club at 9.30.
